In And Out Bandung
I think its in almost every Malaysian's must go list...
What are Malaysian's favorite activity there? ermmmm...no other than shop till they drop...hahaha...its true though...its all because it has been known that Bandung offers a heaven for shoppers especially for those factory outlets stuffs...they have lots of those...they call it 'sisa eksport'...for the price tag...its a lil wonder why Malaysia now have 3 major airlines flying to Bandung...and its my 3rd time to this particular city in less than a year but with different group of friends...it was March 2010...
But there's more to Bandung other than just to satisfy one's retail therapy...for one thing...Bandung has a special geographical areas that can't be seen in any part of Malaysia...one of its famous is no other than Tangkuban Parahu...the active volcanic crater that boast beautiful scenery...but one's experience will be smeared by the endless touts who are trying to sell off their things for an unbelievably outrageous price...say like...a fridge magnet that was sworn to be made out of the volcanic stones with the starting price of IDR200,000~RM80...wadafish...HRC Osaka's fridge magnet is cheaper than that...
Learnt from the past experience...sunglasses really do make its trick to trick off those touts...eye contacts...its all about eye contact...sunglasses on...no eye contact...and try to ignore...that can save lots of trouble...just a few kilometers away was the popular hot spring...the ciater....
Okay now talking about shopping...the must go if one's ever in Bandung is of course the famous Pasar Baru...the girls went crazy over the telekung...yeah its really cheap...and also some of the silk..the cotton...the organza...the whatever...and it wont be completed without a visit to two most prominent factory outlets in Bandung namely Grande and Rumah Mode...nice price tag...and i mean really really nice...hahahha....
Since Indonesia has the largest Muslim community in the world...halal food is easy to find...just the matter of preferences...some people in Malaysia will tell us to be careful as the halal-ness of the food is questionable...ermmm...personally...i think all Muslim are brothers and sisters...we pray to the one and only Allah...so i guess that i should just trust their halal-ness instead of questioning their level of halal-ity?
Bandung also offers their own significant identity food...Pisang Bolen...Brownies Kukus...we just love Kartika Sari...Amanda Brownies...Bandung Brownies...as it was tasty...and the price won't put a big hole in one's pocket let alone bank account...its also a good some sort of food souvenir to brought back...
So...it was the third time in less than a year to Bandung...third time to Tangkuban Parahu and Ciater...still didn't managed to go to the Kawah Putih...ermmm...for sure there will be the fourth time...it will indeed be in and out Bandung...
