Couchsurfing

I am still quite jealous with my travel buddies since i can't join them for our planned Eurotrip 2012...they are currently en route to Amsterdam now...ermmm...however...i started to plan for another possible Eurotrip 2012...tentatively in December 2012...hopefully if all goes well...then i will go...hehehe...

Anyway...for that particular planned trip...i swing in Copenhagen as one of the city...then i was browsing about Copenhagen via wikitravel and it was stated that Copenhagen is EXPENSIVE city...the lodging can go skyrocket and the backpackers hostels are not that many around and mostly are not located within the central areas...then there's another thing that catched my eyes...its stated that Copenhagen are well known for couchsurfing...i think i had heard about it once when i watched Bella on NTV7 the other day...when they were discussing the topic on budget travels...but i wasn't really paying attention of what does couchsurfing is all about...but now i am giving my full attention to it...hahahah...

Basically couchsurfing is about people giving other people a chance to stay at their home for FREE and at the same time being able to provide the same for other people coming to their home...ermmm...sounds cool enough...giving your couch to a total stranger...only interacting with each other via emel or whatever social networking available...kinda remind me of the movie The Holiday which has Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet...of course there's a lot of question regarding the safety and all since we won't know the host...but it is indeed a free accommodation...and its a breath of fresh relief for those who are going to unbelievably expensive cities such as Copenhagen...obviously it is going to save up lotssss of $$$$...on the positive note, just take it as if being Asha Gill in Lonely Planet Six Degrees...not knowing the person...only read about the testimonials from the previous couchsurfers...yeah...totally Lonely Planet Six Degrees...sometimes in life we do need to take chances...okay maybe it will be different for female...ermmmm...

Basically...whatever it is...i am taking note on this particular website as it might be interesting...coz at the same time you also going to make new friends...mostly are frequent travellers as well...and the best of all...one have a personal tour guide or consultant...hehehe...that will save up a lot of time and money...especially avoiding to go to overrated places that the locals don't advise you to go...what's the Must Do and what's the Don't Do and a lot more...but frankly...i think the idea is cool enough...the founder actually got the idea from his trip to Iceland...before going there...he actually emailed 1,500 students asking them whether they can provide him some sort of free lodging...50 replied...talking about getting an email from a complete stranger asking to crash in your house...that was creepy...but luckily he have senses enough to actually turn it around to be one of the coolest idea to travellers...especially those shoestring style travellers like me...i am definitely going to try this one of these days...couchsurfing...

interesting.
but you duduk mana? like on the couch? or they actually give you a room? if yang datang tuh baik-baik mcm you, takpelah. kalau dapat yang suka mabok, hisap weed semua macam mana? kalau dapat yang suka mencuri lagi horror :(

i baca pasal couchsurfing nie...its like a homestay but for free...the host usually will provide a room...or just bagi you sofa bed la...depends on the host...and itu ler...horror gak bila fikir balik tumpang rumah total stranger...tapi boleh refer balik to previous testimonials and also boleh interact first sebelum pergi...kalau tak berkenan boleh ajer say no thanks...you should check out the website...
