Some Said Its More Fun in the Philippines
Its the year 2013...and it was my first overseas trip...to the Philippines...what can i say about this particular trip?well...its rather interesting...hahaha...
Touchdown in Manila in the afternoon...immediately went to the hotel...its in Makati...but a rather not so quiet as opposed to the center of Makati...we stay in Berjaya Hotel...Halal food...no worries...and i have to say that they have the most comfortable bed ever...seriously no joke...i had been to a lot of hotels...this one comes up on top...even better bed than Pullman Dubai...which used to be my choice of the most comfortable bed...
This time around...i had the chance to see a bit more of Manila...and the surrounding areas...other than Makati...i finally managed to go to Intramuros...phewww...which is a must see by the way...an old fort left by the Spanish...but it was rather hot...also Rizal Park...which only for a touch and go kinda thing...because it was hot...seriously hot...suddenly...i kinda got into the museum mode...we went to the National Museum of the Philippines...i have to say that i really love the concept...each rooms are decorated differently...the drawings bear some rather interesting facts about the life of the Filipinos...i was really enchanted...
Of course what is a trip without some souvenirs rite...and there it is...for the spending pleasure...it has to be Greenhills...its like Petaling Street in a complex...or Silk Market some might say...totally Filipino style...bargain is a must...but my friends were kinda surprise that i did not buy a thing...well...as i stated before...i am no shopaholics...which many people choose not to believe...errrr...
Other than that...i managed to go to the nearby areas...such as Taguig City...Bonifacio...and also...make that once in a lifetime trip to Tagaytay...its about 2 hours drive from Manila...i slept throughout the journey...it was a lake...volcanic lake ala Danau Toba...named Lake Taal...with islands around...and we went to the one with the volcanic crater...up to the peak...by horse...a rather tired horse i might say...i was half contemplating whether i had made the horse suffer...errr...it was a very good journey...
When i was in Manila last year...i stay in New World Hotel in the heart of Makati...perfect location...just opposite the high-end shopping mall ala Pavilion called Greenbelt...but...the city was dead the minute the clock change...as if nobody went out at nite...as opposed to the place that i stay...its not that high-end area...but it was rather interesting...the city still alive...even in the middle of the nite...furthermore...it was quite safe...i felt safe...that's the most important...
There is more to Manila than what i had experience...eventhough i was there for a week...but the time to really explore the city was limited...but i never had any regret of that...because at least i had a gist of what the Philippines have to offer...perhaps i should go there again one day just for the islands...heard many interesting thing about the islands...but seriously need to really arrange my schedule for it...whatever i just had experience...is puny...but i had listened and believed what i had heard before...that is...some said its more fun in the Philippines...
