Dream Trip 2014 - Kuala Lumpur - Abu Dhabi - Berlin - Chicago - New York - Chicago - Berlin - Abu Dhabi - Kuala Lumpur

One year one long haul trip...that is what's in my yearly budget...eventhough i am already married...

My sister is currently living in Chicago...she had been badgering me to go and visit her ever since i can remember...i wanted to go but its just that i always find the flights to the US is equivalent to two tickets to Europe...which is why i always put it on hold...but then again...i had been to Europe a few times...its time to explore the other region...since my sister is living there...why not...

Of course...the initial plans always revolves around my birthday...hahaha...some sort of birthday present for myself...a gift after all those hard work...last year i bought myself a rather pricey working bag...this year i think i want to go somewhere...

Nowadays i like using Kayak.com...its easier and somehow manage to put together connecting flights which normal airlines website aren't able to do...for the week of my birthday...i found this route...

Kuala Lumpur - Abu Dhabi - Berlin - Chicago - Berlin - Abu Dhabi - Kuala Lumpur

Its an Air Berlin flight...operated by Etihad Airways from Kuala Lumpur...with 20 hours transit time in Abu Dhabi...i can actually go to Dubai to visit my friend and then fly off to Berlin and off to Chicago...the transit in Berlin is only for 3 hours...its RM3,861 return...

Then from Chicago to New York on my birthday...yeahhhh...birthday in both Chicago and New York...2 nites in New York...the return flight is via Spirit Airlines and cost RM621 return...

Finally the flight back from Chicago to Berlin with layover time of 15 hours...then i can actually go for a day trip to the Berlin town and then go back to the airport and fly back to Kuala Lumpur via Abu Dhabi...so total all in all is tentatively flying from KL on Thursday early morning and arrive in Abu Dhabi early morning...take a bus to Dubai and hang out until later that evening and depart from Abu Dhabi early morning the next day...fly via Berlin and arrive in Chicago Friday afternoon...Sunday morning off to New York and back to Chicago on Tuesday night...then fly back to KL on Friday late afternoon...reached Berlin in early morning...depart from Berlin later that night then arrive in Abu Dhabi wait for the fly back home and reach KL by Sunday night...

Phewwww....that is a long list of flying...Air Berlin is a part of Oneworld...so i could get some points for this flight...in term of expenses...well the flight tickets alone are equivalent to my one eurotrip plus everything...and this is only the cost of the flights...but then again...i don't have to worry much about accommodation as i have my sister and friends place to crash...perhaps just some extra cash for other expenses...this is possible...perhaps not the date but the trip itself...i never been to the US before and i should start with this one...for this year...this is the trip...dream trip 2014 - KL - Abu Dhabi - Berlin - Chicago - New York - Chicago - Berlin - Abu Dhabi - Kuala Lumpur...
