Memories Of Bali

Another day...another trip...

This time around to the Island of Gods...Bali, Indonesia...its the first time i am here...had been hearing lots of stories about this particular island from friends who had been there...lots of comments...but one thing for sure...its one of the places to go...

Arrived in Ngurah Rai International Airport at nite...took the cab (which is of the fixed price of IDR55,000 to Kuta)...went on to spend the nite in a budget hotel...i had been staying in lots of budget hotels before...but this particular hotel is by far the worst i had ever been to yet...not going to recommend it to anyone...especially my friends who are going to Bali...there's lot of foreigners staying in the hotel though...i seriously don't know why...

We spent the nite walking down the road by Kuta Beach...from one end to another end...Kuta is a place to stay if one's are opting for an easy access to any parts of Bali...not lacking of taxis or what not...there's no public bus in Bali eh...

The next morning we took supir service (12 hours car rental with driver inclusive of fuel and parking fee)...checked out of the hotel...went on to Ubud...the sad thing about this particular trip was...its raining the whole day...aiiii...kinda spoil the moment a bit...had lunch in this restaurant overlooking the paddy field called Bebek Tepi Sawah Restaurant...quite upscale...and a bit pricey...then we went off to Uluwatu for some sunset experience...but...it was raining...no sunset was around...(T_T)...luckily they have this daily event called Kecak Dance...which was kinda interesting...a bit funny too as we were watching all the guys with hibiscus plastered on their ears ala Rosalinda...hehehe...but i have to say...its a good experience to actually watch the performance...had seafood dinner in Jimbaran on the way back...by the sea...whoaaa...it was great atmosphere...but it rained heavily...again...urghhh...went back to Kuta...for the next two nites we checked in to Wina Holiday Villa in Kuta...paid USD145 (IDR1,400,000) for two nites...great hotel...Malaysian owned by the way...

Following morning was another story...it started up with heavy rains...kinda dampen our mood...again...but once the rain subsidied...we took a brisk walk to the Kuta Beach...it was said that there was heavy rains in Java Island...and the waves kick all those 'garbages' to Kuta...hurmmm...was opting for some surfing lessons...hehehe...went to the memorial where the bombing took place...walked along the Legian street to find more food...and just wandering around the city...after lunch...took a cab to Tanah Lot...this time we seriously do hope that we can actually see sunset...alhamdulillah...no rains...the sun sets beautifully...wahhhh...that nite we went to have foot massage...a must if one's ever in Bali...roughly the cost will be around IDR50,000 ~ IDR80,000 (RM18~RM25)...its the final nite in Bali...tomorrow will be the final day...

Woke up...and it was raining again...arghhhh...since our departure flight was at nite...the morning was spent in the spa...the balinese massage...erkkk...kinda release the stress muscles a bit...had lunch in KFC (confirmed Halal)...then went on to find something to buy...eventhough Bali is not exactly shoppers paradise as in Bandung or Jakarta...they still have something interesting...especially for surfers...as they have factory outlet for Quicksilver, Billabong and Ripcurl in Bali...spent the day away by going to the malls...find postcards...some small souveniers...finished with all those...we went back to the airport and back to Malaysia...

Overall...the trip could have been better if its not because of the rain...but it felt incomplete as i don't really managed to go for water time in the beach...(T_T)...its a good introduction to Bali anyway...its kinda affordable to go again in the recent time...maybe i should go again with my brother next time around...despite everything that happened...its always been great to have...memories of Bali...
