Not So New City Called Newcastle

If its not because of my cousin i wouldn't even think i will go there...

As my dear cousin was still studying in one of the university there during that time...we made an effort to go and have some sort of mini family reunion there...cool huh...the city is pretty much laid back compared to London...

We didn't spend too much time in the city itself...we made a trip to the neighbouring cities...rented a car...if i still remember it...the MPV cost about GBP80 for two days...i drove the MPV myself...my sis rented another car...vauxhall...for those who failed geography...Newcastle is in the north of England...border to Scotland...the city itself is near to the sea...great atmosphere....

While we were there...we drove to Durham which was about 1 hour drive from Newcastle...its like this ancient English city with ancient buildings (i never been to Bath before so i think i will be even cooler there)...really cool old-english-style buildings...they also have the oldest cathedral in England if i remember correctly...it is very walkable as it was the interchange between spring to summer when we were there...the air was just nice...not too hot nor its too cold...

  

Millenium bridge is one of those modern monument built in conjunction with the millenium celebration...went there just to kill off time...as it was kinda dark when we were there...then had dinner at one of the iranian restaurant in the town area...all i remember of the town was they have this big Mark & Spencer mall near the Newcastle University...

Personally i think Newcastle is an interesting city...its not exactly a popular 'tourist city' as Liverpool or Manchester (its not fair to mention London rite)...but the location of the city enabled you to experience more...its pretty much easy to drive to Edinburgh...or even drove to have a breezy springtime in Lake District...sometimes i do like the idea of going to the less popular cities...coz its interesting...this time around i can put my mark in the journel that i had been to not so new city called Newcastle...
